Electronics have become such a normal part of our lives that most of us don’t know how we ever lived without them. There are surely useful parts of being constantly connected: news sources are at our fingertips, you can check up on your kids with a quick phone call, but can our electronics cause issues with our health?

But what if these eletronics that have grown to be apart of our daily lives can cause damage to us? We will talk about studies that have been done on electronics and how they can effect our lives and health.

How Electronics Affect Sleep

There have been numerous studies in recent years that attempt to understand the dangers of electronics and how they affect sleep. Based on this research many sleep experts believe that electronics should be avoided close to sleep, especially in children who are just beginning to develop good sleep habits.

Disrupted Sleep Patterns

We all like use check our phone before we go to sleep and after we wake up. But studies are showing that viewing a bright screen at night can cause harm to our vision and sleep patterns.

Ising lots of technology before bed time awakens the brain and mind instead of relaxing before sleep. This will create a longer time to fall asleep. Bad sleeping habits affect your brain activity during the day.

If you are tired from not getting an average of 7-8 hours of sleep at night, you will have a harder time concentrating and focusing on daily activities. You will also have less energy and feel tired throughout the day.

Next time you turn on the tv or go to your phone before sleep, think of doing something more relaxing on the mind like reading or meditating.
